More Information

The main conference will run from the afternoon of 24 August to 26 August 2026, with pre-conference workshops taking place on the morning of 24 August. All sessions will be held at the Frederick Douglass Centre, a modern and fully accessible venue on Newcastle University’s Helix site.

Our social programme highlights two of the city’s standout venues:

• Welcome Reception – ABOVE at The Vermont Hotel (Free event)
Join us on the evening of 24 August 2026 for a complimentary welcome reception at ABOVE, the Vermont Hotel’s beautiful rooftop bar overlooking the Tyne Bridge and Newcastle’s iconic Quayside.

• Gala Dinner – The Riverside at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art (£65)
Join us for our Gala Dinner on the evening of 25 August 2026 at the BALTIC, a unique riverside setting with spectacular views across the River Tyne.

Discounted rates are available exclusively to current Newcastle University MA ALT and MA CCC students.

Accepted forms of verification include:
Your Newcastle University Student ID number
A photo or screenshot of your student smartcard
A current enrolment confirmation (e.g., screenshot from S3P or a programme admin email)

Important Travel Requirement:
From 25 February 2026, all EU/EEA delegates and other visa‑exempt travellers must obtain a UK Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before travelling. Travellers cannot board flights, trains, or ferries to the UK without a valid ETA.
