This is the fifth international conference dedicated to Interactional Competences and Practices in a Second Language, bringing together researchers who take a socially situated approach to language use and development. This conference is hosted by Newcastle University’s Applied Linguistics & Communication research team, who have a long and proud history of research in social interaction research, particularly in L2 settings.
