A 6 month online Distance Learning course in Marine Biology open to all. No previous experience or qualifications in science or marine biology needed.

Five modules are online and the sixth module is a 5 day fieldcourse in Newcastle, UK

Applicants must be 18 years of age by 1st March 2025. There is no upper age limit.

Course Description

There are five months of taught modules, but you have a total of eight months to complete all assignments and exercises at your own pace. Study is done from the comfort of your own home via the internet. There is an optional Newcastle fieldcourse taking place in May 2025.

This course does not lead to a professional qualification, but students successfully completing the course receive a Certificate of Completion from the University. The course provides an ideal taster for those considering studying this subject formally at university, or considering changing careers.

Accommodation for the May fieldcourse is not included.
