Retirement Collection for Janet Wheeler

Amount (£)

Description

Janet began her career in the Computing Laboratory on 15 September 1975. She has been an outstanding addition to Newcastle University and it is difficult, if not impossible, to sum up all her achievements (for example, working on the very first Newcastle University website, developing and running a wide range of web based services and leading a number of innovative JISC funded projects - many of which resulted in core IT services in use today) during 42 years of dedicated service. In addition to her extraordinary competence and skill, she has been a friend to all with her thoughtfulness and quiet encouragement.
To celebrate her well-deserved retirement, there will an opportunity to thank Janet for her 42 years and wish her all the best for the future at a presentation on Friday 15 September at 4pm in the Courtyard and you are warmly invited to attend.
